Comment from the artist

In agreement with my cultural roots, religion is an integral part of who and what I am. In this personal representation of Christ, He is surrounded by storks, symbol of life. Three storks pierce Christ's hands and feet, replacing the traditional nails.

On each side of Christ, the birds compose two faces, the two thieves, representing humanity. The cross is made of hyperrealist wood representing our material world.

As to the representation of Christ himself, it is not a Christ of pain but a Christ of tranquility. Some storks fly towards him, some away from him…as some of us do.
