In this painting I freely represent some Mexican women: their garments remind us of the pre-Columbian era, while their hair is braided with ribbons as is still often seen today. They carry plants inspired by the setcreasea purpurea (commonly 'purple heart'), of Mexican origin, with purple leaves and bright pink flowers, that is now found in hanging baskets all over the world.
A different perspective shows us the head profile of a third woman breathing in the light perfume of an opening rose button.
