Hot summer, season of relaxation, adventure and change processes. This craving for change, for travel, for frolic, is symbolized by the multitude of butterflies, all different, champions of metamorphosis, that have clung to this musician, while appearing to also be flying out of his violin as so many notes singing change.

This longing for freedom that characterizes summer is also epitomized by the license that I took in representing a left-handed violinist, a rarity indeed. As for the violin itself, it is fully alive, made from the ibis, while the bow is peacock feather.

This painting is part of the polyptych titled Cuatro estaciones (Vivaldi).
